Japan has a fundamental problem with information itself: it's often lacking, and when it does exist, is fuzzy at its best, bogus at its worst.
- Alex Kerr

The image of itself Japan projects —just as the image the rest of the world prefers accepting— is frequently flat and monotone, presenting the same few stereotypical notions. The aspects that are most controversial or layered are frequently hidden or downplayed, sacrificing complexity and  realism.

Karasu_zuka_kazasu was born from a bizarre encounter in Kyōto that - as brief as it might have been - let a series of contrasting considerations emerge. Crows, new religions, and a yet unspeakable past are the protagonists of its scattered reflections.

Fragmented storytelling and messy collages reflect a disorderly and realistic rendering of a specific experience in Japan.
